taco tuesday
So yesterday was not so hot, but today....well today is National Taco Tuesday.
Can life possibly be bad on National Taco Tuesday?
Its been a relatively busy and productive day and after the week I am having so far tonight I am ready to rest, relax, fellowship and laugh...and its only Tuesday.
I am grateful that the Lord says its ok to lay down some of the burdens we carry and that He allows us to cut lose and have fun. God LOVES fun. He created fun.
I think sometimes we get too hung up carrying the weight of the world on our shoulders and we forget that its ok to lay down those burdens now and again.
This morning I read about Moses and how after the Israelites got to the wilderness from morning to night he was holding court and solving everyones problems. I had a moment today, as I was chasing in and out of the office after this and that, unlocking bathrooms, doing new intakes and generally problems solving for a lot of people, where I felt like I got what Moses must have been going through.
Moses had some wise counsel from his father in law. He told him to:
It is ok to need help. It is also ok to walk away and let someone else pick up where you left off.
Today at 4:00pm...I clocked out and walked away without a worry or a care because I knew that my work would still be there tomorrow. In the meantime there were great people there to keep things going. It doesn't matter if they do things the way that I do them, they aren't me but they are placed by the Lord to serve people and He trusts them, so I can trust them.
So tonight...well tonight I will cut loose, rest, relax, fellowship and laugh.
Because the Lord knows that we need that and because....
It's Taco Tuesday! :)
(Don't worry friends...I'll still make good choices)

Get some help for crying out loud! (Ok I may have paraphrased a little bit)It is important to have people around you who can help you. People who can help you carry the weight of the world for a while. In reading through the life of Moses just yesterday I read the story about the battle against the Amalekites where Moses had to keep his arms in the air. Have you ever done a work out where they make you keep your hand up FOREVER? It's basically the worst. He never could have done it without Aaron and Hur to help him keep them up.
It is ok to need help. It is also ok to walk away and let someone else pick up where you left off.
